Why We Worship The Way We Do |
|
We Stand to Sing: “And the Levites… stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice.” (II Chronicles 2:19) We Lift Our Hands In Praise: “ Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord” (Psalm 134:2) We Play Musical Instruments: “…and the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments ” (II Samuel 6:5). We Clap Our Hands: “O Clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph” (Psalm 47:1) We Pray Together In Unison: “ And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice with one accord” (Acts 4:24) We Sing Hymns and Choruses: Speaking to yourselves in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs” (Ephesians 5:19) We Anoint With Oil and Pray for Divine Healing: “Is any sick among you? Let them call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:14)
