Luke 11:33 through Luke 11:36 (KJV) 33No
man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a
secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick,
that they which come in may see the light. 34The
light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is
single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine
eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
35Take heed therefore that the light
which is in thee be not darkness. 36If
thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no
part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the
bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
John 3:19 through John 3:21 (KJV) 19And
this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their
deeds were evil. 20For every
one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the
light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But
he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may
be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 8:12 (NIV) 12When Jesus
spoke again to the people, he said, "I
am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never
walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
